Spirit Departed

Update on baby - we decided to start rounds this morning in the NICU. When we walked in the nurses told us that our sick baby had just stopped breathing. Jeremy started CPR and we began to pray. We prayed that God's will would be done. We interceded for the spirit of that newborn and committed it to God's presence. We decided in unity of the Spirit to stop the CPR after a few minutes as the baby wasn't responding - the baby died. The timing was not coincidental - that baby shouldn't have even survived the night - I think he was waiting for our prayers. God is good even in death.

    This is so sad, yet the presence of love in that room surrounding him as he left this world to enter the next is beautiful. Your prayers gave him wings and made him know that his brief life here mattered and that he was loved.
